All Beatti jewellery is perfect alone or curates your jewellery stack with variety, using 10K & 14K solid gold, 14K Gold filled, 925 sterling silver, 316L surgical steel, and Brass. Caring for your pieces will help ensure its beauty, luster, and longevity. Here are some helpful tips from us on how to care for and maintain your jewellery.

Solid Gold Jewellery
We use 10K or 14K solid gold. 10 Karat Gold is made of 41.66% pure gold. 14 Karat Gold is made of 58.50% pure gold. Made with precious metal, it doesn't damage easily and protect from scratches less. Solid gold does not generally tarnish, so it is wearable every day even in taking a shower and swimming. The Karat gold and is chill for every day look without taking off.

Sterling Silver Jewellery
We use 92.5% pure Silver. As with most precious metals, Sterling Silver can tarnish but this is less likely to occur if our care guide above is followed.  You may use a silver polishing cloth to remove the oxide layer that may form on top of the metal. Lear more tip to below.

14K Gold Filled Jewellery
We use made with a thick layer of 14 Karat gold, this material is durable and has the desirable properties and look of solid gold. It is of higer quality than gold plated and is a great alternative to real gold.

Surgical Steel Jewellery
Amongst the most hypoallergenic materials known to man, surgical is both durable and affordable. They are a great choice of material as piercing earrings or for those with sensitive ears.

Brass Jewellery
Brass is the most commonly used base metal for jewellery. Our products are plated in silver, gold or rose gold. While the plating will, unfortunately, wear off and tarnish over time, taking good care of them can prolong their beauty.

Crystals & Gemstones
Jewellery with crystals or gemstones is extremely delicate and  must be treated with care. We highly advise you avoid sleeping or showering in the jewellery and when not being worn, keep safe in their own pouch to prevent pieces rubbing and scratching against one another.

How to Jewellery Care?

Cleaning your jewelry
Pour a small amount of mild soap into lukewarm water and use a small, soft toothbrush to clean your jewelry. Toothbrushes are ideal for cleaning jewelry with intricate details, which can otherwise be difficult to clean. If the dirt is hard to remove, soak the jewelry in clean water. Gold plated jewelry requires more care. Using your toothbrush very intensely may cause the gold plating to fade away, therefore it is very important that you do this process very carefully to avoid the gold plating from wearing away. If your sterling silver jewelry has become dull, a silver-polishing cloth is a great tool to make it shine again. However, it will not remove scratches.

How to store your jewelry
Jewellery should be stored away from direct sunlight and heat, in a protective jewelry box or a tarnish-resistant pouch. It can also be stored in a cool dry place either in a ziplock storage made of polyethylene. If it has been a hot humid day, wash your pieces with mild soap before storage.
Never use polyvinyl plastic bags, such as trash can liners, as they contain sulphur compounds, or rubber containers which will make sterling silver tarnish faster and possibly turn black. Do not leave your pieces on bathroom counters or humid surfaces. Please note that our jewel boxes are not made for long-term storage as they are not airtight and tarnishing will occur over time.

Important note for Sterling silver jewellery
As with most precious metals, Sterling Silver can tarnish but this is less likely to occur if our care guide above is followed. It is normal for Sterling Silver to oxidize when exposing to air or natural oils in the skin. But, no worries! You can quickly and easily restore the original shine with the use of polishing cloth or silver cleaner. Toothpaste or baking soda is an alternative silver cleaner. Vermeil (gold plated over sterling silver) may tarnish over time when exposed to chemicals such as pool and water, hair spray, perfume or lotions so please keep your delicate piece away from these to prolong the life of your jewellery. We do not recommend using restore way above on this material as it will rub the plating off the base metal.

Important note for Colour-Plated jewellery
Beatti does not guarantee that its gold, rhodium or rosegold plated jewellery will last forever.
Gold plated pieces are, by default, more fragile and liable to lose their color over time. The speed at which the gold plating fades will depend on multiple variables from chemical products used for skincare, level of perspiration or even your natural skin PH. For this reason, it is particularly important to take special care of your gold plated jewelry. Please ensure you check this before placing an order if you suffer from metal allergies or sensitivity. We try to avoid low-cost base metals except for steel and focus on sterling silver, 10 & 14 karat gold and 14 karat gold-filled.
